Peter’s first foray into the non-profit world was as a member of the Board of Directors for the Social Planning Council of Kitchener-Waterloo. From there, Peter joined the Board at Supportive Housing of Waterloo, where he was responsible for all communication and social media outreach. Heeding a call from Guelph, he joined the staff at the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington, where he was responsible for the creation of the popular Trees for Tots Christmas Tree charity event. During this time Peter also served as VP of the Board of Directors at Canada Without Poverty, the leading anti-poverty lobby group in Canada. Stepping down from his board role, Peter served CWP further as a fundraising consultant, writing annual appeals and email fundraising copy.
Returning to Kitchener-Waterloo, Peter took up the role of communications and media officer at United Way KW, where Peter was responsible for all of the organization’s writing, including speech writing, opinion-editorials, annual report development and web copy. Most recently, Peter served as Communications Manager for REEP Green Solutions.
